The border is composed of a series of rectangular vignettes depicting a bay scene with a ship, sailboats and the Harbor Bridge. Triangular areas in the border depict grain plants signifying the City’s agricultural roots. When viewed from an upper floor, three life-size people appear to be walking across the mural. The tiles are made of colored clay with a matte finish rather than glazed so the color will remain constant as the tiles wear.
