The Spanish Territory extended from the San Antonio River to the Punuco River near Veracruz, Mexico. Captain Falcon established a garrison, explored the coast and established a mission to Christianize the Karankawa Indians. In 1764, he received the first land grant issued by the Spanish Governor.
